As some of you know, I recently sold a website dedicated to helping vBulletin admins. On that forum I had two sections, one that listed off all the clients I had worked with (that approved to be mentioned) & one that listed several of the testimonials from those clients. At the time of selling that forum I had worked on over 300 vBulletin sites. This was over a 3-year span & many of those admins would need repeat work (vB upgrades, new sites etc..). When I sold the site I built a new “vBulletin Services” page on this blog. Right around that same time that I sold the site, I picked up a great job with the state – I’m still very happy employed and loving it. I knew that I wouldn’t be taking on as many jobs as before, so promoting the services back on this blog wasn’t a priority.

I’m starting to clear up some time and thought I might as well take care of this so I can mark it off my list. I’m going to re-post all the clients I had worked with, a general outline of what I did and a link/screenshot to their site. I’ll setup a category for my clients and testimonials. I also have the option with the current style to display 9 featured client sites. I think it says something about webhosting right now, and you might see the screenshots displayed across the top, those will be changed soon, I’m hoping to have everything transferred over by the end of this next week. I may not end up using this green style you see, I want to have an option to show featured post on the home page, like my IPB vs vBulletin post should be on the front, it was getting a lot of comments, as well as a few others that have a high comment count.

So this is how I’ll continue to build my brand, by showing the work I’ve done and what my clients say about me. In the 3+ years I’ve been doing this, I’ve never had an upset customer with problems that we couldn’t resolve. Usually it’s a communication error, and that’s one of the reasons I like to talk on the phone with clients, but I request all site requirements done via email. That way I have a solid copy and know exactly what a client wants. It’s best to be clear and concise and keep good documentation of the work at hand.

In short, all my subscribers will get a few updates with a dozen or so post it in, I’ll try to get through them as fast as possible so it’s not so annoying for the subscribers.

2 weeks ago my mom and I went down to see my grandma Siver for a week. It was a real good time, I wish we lived closer so we could see each other more. The day we drove down, Alissa had a wedding to go to. It was one of her school friends I think, I know she was looking forward to the party afterward. She took a pregnancy test after the wedding while her and Amy where getting ready for the party, and it came back positive.. You can only imagine how excited the sisters were, Alissa wanted to keep it a secret from her mom at leas until she told me.. Both our mothers have been giving us “hints” and “nudges” for a grand baby..

Anyway, long story short.. we’ve already made a Sheley baby blog, where you can see how she told our parents.

I had posted that our house was for sale some time ago, well 50 days later and we think we have it sold. We have until the 31st to get out, and into a new place.. We’ve found a few places we like, but will probably rent a place for a few months before we move in. That way we don’t have to feel rushed, we found a real nice house today, and might give an offer on Saturday..

I just got the new skin on the Transform Topeka website. I also just posted one of the longest post I’ve ever done.. I’m pretty impressed actually.

The Crowdgather job is still going great, I’ve been working closely with some real advertising pro’s. I’ve learned more in the last month about advertising using CPC and PPC advertising then I had in the last year.

oh, I’m looking forward to seeing my Sheley family, we have a reunion in September for a few days.. I’m not looking forward to the drive at all, but it’s well worth it once you get there.

We will be going to the ozarks one of these weekends for the Topeka adclub, I got to go last year but wasn’t a member.. This year I’m a member, so it may not be as free going for me.. I’m hoping to work on my tan and have a few beers!

Anyways.. Life has been good for me, Alissa and I are getting the house cleaned up to get ready to show/sell. We are looking for a house with more room and a bit newer then the one we are currently in. School is cruising along fine, I’m still passing and looking forward to spring break! We are working with cisco switches, it’s pretty interested stuff, at least for me it is.

What have I been working on ? The end of last year I got a call from a past client in Cali asking me if I wanted to fly over for some website meetings.. Of course I said yes! It was awesome and warm! I think I’ll be going back sometime, this time with Alissa. I’m currently the head Marketing Coordinator for the Crowdgather network.. I’ll let you know more about what crowdgather is when we official go public. All I can say is this.. Currently I’m in charge of 20 forums and I have to make sure they are optimized for search engines, as well as monetize all the forums so my boss can start making some money. We haven’t added ad’s on many forum yet, I’ve just been working on getting the site optimized and posting some links around the web back to it.

With that said, the vBulletin Services work that I was doing during the week, I don’t have near the time for.. I’ve created a vBulletin team that is composed of about 20 vbulletin programmers and designers that I’ve been pushing the work off on to.. It’s worked out for everyone because I asked that the vb team help on the forums, especially if they are making money off vBulletin Setup.

Other then that, hasn’t been to much going on. I’ll try to update this more often now that I have the magazine style template setup.

I have started “Sheley Enterprise” Basically I’ll be doing the same thing as I was doing before but I’ll have keep track of revenue for tax purposes.

I’ve made a page that explains some of what I offer to clients here – vBulletin Services I’ve been getting strong support from some well known vBulletin sites and developers about my services. So all as been good as far as the websites go.

We’ve been working on a new shed out back. The last one was rotten and falling over, we needed a new one. The one we’re building now is about the same size as the last, just a little taller.

I’ve been playing a lot of disc golf with some friends on mine during the day, it’s a fun game and best of all.. It’s Free ! Topeka has 3 or 4 course, but I’ve only made it to two of them. The others are pretty much in the getto, so no rush to go down there..lol

Anyways, eveything else is good. I started a small contest on one of my sites and so far it’s been a hit. Lis and I just got back from playing some basketball with a few friends.. I’m seriously Out Of Shape!, need to do that more often.lol.

I have the shed out back torn done and still have a load or two that I need to get to a dump or something. I don’t know where one is in town is. My father in law will prolly be up in a few weekends and we’ll start building the new one.

I’ve been playing around with some Press Releases for Alissa’s site and one of my own.. So far, I’ve been impressed.. I’ve only been using the free options, as soon as I get some extra online cash I’ll be paying for some permium packages.

It’s been weeks since I posted here, we’ll I’ve had some family issues that I need to take care of. I’m not going to get into that, so lets just get on to the fun stuff.

… All has been good in school, as of last week, I’m up to an 86% for this semester. I did get an 80 on the test last week, so it may drop

We’ve been talking and learning about Novell Server. It’s been pretty cool and I’ve been able to associate it to the structure of the ftp of the websites I work on. I guess that’s why I’ve been able to well in class.

I’ve been playing some Disc Golf the last 3 weeks, it’s been pretty cool. I haven’t played since back when I was in high school. I was shooting about 13 over par the first week, now I have it up to a good 6 over par I think I’ll start playing in the league on wednesday night.. I think I can win a few disc if I’m lucky..lol

I’m working on redoing my Resume right now and have plans to have a job by summer. I have a few leads so far, just waiting to update my info on the resume. Speaking of, I need to get back to it.. So what does this mean ? well, not much other then its a bit easier to sell advertisment. This couldn’t of came at a better time. If you seen my last blog post then you see I sold a few of my babies. One of the buyers got a great deal as the Pr hadn’t hit when the auction was over. I’m talking with this person and may make a few custom directories just for him.

Anyways, I need to get back to cooking supper, Everyone think of my wife, she is having sinus sugery tomarrow.

I’ve also been buying some more domain names and will be devloping them soon. One of my goals for 2007 was to have on average, 100 domains by the end of the year. i’m up to 25-26 now

My forum vBulletin Setup hit 1000+ visits in one day this week, the next goal is 2500 a day.

Oh, my school is going well, we should be installing linux soon. Yeah !

So, we started school back up today. I’m pretty amp’d about it, I like how the teacher if going to be instructing. I think I’ll be able to do better on my test this semester. Our class size is a few ppl smaller, so that will help with the concentration. We’ll be exploring windows XP desktop and linux, as well as the server side of both XP and windows. I should learn some good stuff about troubleshooting a network

I’ve decided  to start a business, I’ll be announcing more soon, but I’m going to build websites and run websites as an income in 2007

Other then that, I turned down a job in Lawrence for the paper, I was only going to be working 15-20 hours a week. After gas and the turnpike with 20 hours a week I’d make a whopping 80$ a week So I’m still looking for a job and in the meantime I’m going to work on websites.

I’ve closed locoforum.com down it wasn’t making me much $ and I’ll direct all traffic to http://www.locomacheen.com/ after I have it pointed to my new site for a week or two. I might even point it to this blog, I haven’t decided yet.

I sold 1pxy.com last night and just got the payment for the free-myspace-styles.com this afternoon. I really didn’t want to sell either, but honestly I needed the cash for the house and car, or ya and for food.

I picked up a job this week to build a database for a company here in town, but it was just temp and I’m done with it. So I’m on the hunt again, but I did get a call today from a newspaper in Lawrence, I have an interview Tuesday morning. I think I have the job so that’s cool. It’s only 15-20 hours a week, but the last 2 ppl that had the position have been promoted, so I that’s good. The job is something to do with websites, or placing ad’s in the paper or something. I’ll have more info after Tuesday, the job starts at 5 pm, so I think I’ll be finding another job for during the day.

Anyways, I need to get back to cleaning the house, hope you all have a good weekend. I’m going to try to, we might be going to the parents house this weekend.
