I think internet marketing is a good way to target those you cannot in person, and thus far it has been growing. Some of the things you listed though has given me more ideas as to how to spread news of my blog. So thank you! very helpful indeed.

This is a great article on small business marketing. There are so many SEO tactics that small businesses can use in order to make profits from their business, as well as being able to rank better in the search engines. I just read something how if you're not on the first page of Google you might as well be non-existent and that is so true. How often do people really move on the the further pages in a search result? Something to think about!

PPC tears down SEO as well. Anyone telling a small business that they should pay thousands to show up on page 1 of Google can be trumped by a guy spending a buck a bid! Don't get me wrong, SEO is important, but if a small business has to make a choice which to spend their dollars on, PPC hands down!

Exactly right Darren,
PPC is the easiest way for any shop owner to compete with the “big boys” and not have to spend thousands to get your rankings up. It can cost as little as a buck to get your ad on the first page in google.
I also like PPC campaigns because then you can see what is really being searched day to day, vs with SEO it takes weeks/months before your ranked well enough to track those clicks.

It's fantastic taking a local mom & pop operation and making them international with one campaign. The look on their faces when orders come in from all over the world is priceless. Nice post.
