I’ve been running vBSetup for years, since June of 06 actually. I’m not going to lie and say I won’t be sad to sell, but it had to be done. I just don’t have the time to commit to the forums like I did before Leo came around.  I’ll still visit the forums a few times a week, but not having to worry about software/hardware updates and issues is going to be a huge relief for me. I announced to the members yesterday of the purchase and had an overall positive take on the acquisition. I look forward to seeing what Crowdgather does with the site. I know they have some great resources and can really push the forum to the next level. I’ll miss being able to email or market anything to 12,000 users with a flip of a switch, but I think I’ll still be talking to all the active users via Twitter or other forums.

I’m not leaving the forum scene all together; I had purchased IPBHelp a few months back when I was thinking about expanding my services to IPB. I got a job with the state shortly after I purchased that license and URL and didn’t really have time for it. I still don’t have a lot of time, but enough to tinker around with it once a week. I’ve already added a WordPressMU to the root as well as IP.Converge which will allow users to login to the forum and their blogs with the same login (email & pass). I don’t have it working 100% yet, but it shouldn’t take me much longer. I’ll always love vBulletin, but doubt I’ll ever own another vBulletin license unless I win the lotto and free up all my time, which I don’t even play so that’s not likely..lol

Everything else is going great; Leo is crawling and getting close to walking. I’ve been busy “baby proofing” the house because Leo likes to open the cabinets and any drawer he can reach. He is finally sleeping through the night which is AWESOME! It only took him 7 month but his mother and I are very grateful for the added hours of sleep.

Well that’s a short update of what’s going on, I plan to post a disc golf blog post at some point, so that will probably be the next update you see on this blog.

Over the year that I worked for Crowdgather, I touched over 120 forums large and small.
I was posting a thread for each and every forum, but after 10 of them it started to take up to much time.
So in the mean time I’ll just use this.

We are one week away from closing on our house. It was set for the 30th, but we were able to get it pushed back to the 4th. Our new house closes on the 6th, so I think we’ll stay at one of our parents for 2 days or just rent a room. I’m going to miss the house on eveningside, it’s been a good house for us but we just need more room. I hope our new neighbors are as nice as the ones we have now. I see the neighbors on both sides have big dogs, I’m not sure how Roxy is going to handle the new house. It will certainly be a change, I hope she can maneuver down the stairs on the deck. I know I had posted a link to the for sale listing of the house and it was taken down. So here is an updated link thanks to the mighty google. So other then the house, things have been good. Alissa has been getting lots of rest this weekend. We go to the Dr on tuesday to find out how far along she is. I’ve been getting up at the crack of dawn during the week to make her bacon and eggs every morning. Then I try to go back to bed, spend about 40 mins tossing, 40 mins sleeping then I’m up for the day.

Work has been great, we are are up to 72 forums and really getting some good people to work with us. It’s looking by the time it’s all said and done, I’ll be helping “recruit” new forum owners that want to be a part of the crowdgather network. So far I’ve worn many hats, from strictly working on installing/updating forums, to all the SEO work, to managing advertising/marketing to the future of this recruitment.. It’s been a lot of fun and a tremendous learning experience. I truly do owe thanks to Sanjay Sabnani for letting me in on these great ideas he has which I have no doubt, will be huge.

Something else that is showing some great potential, is out Topeka Blog that we put together for the Transforming Topeka group. It’s a group of 8 of us that have been meeting every thursday for the last few months, talking about ways to help along the whole heartland visioning process that has been brought into Topeka. The blog has been getting amazing comments online and at the Task Force meetings. I’ve even seen the blog above our newsletter “cjonline” for the term “Topeka Kansas” more then a handful of times. It’s ranking well for a few more terms and has been climbing nicely.

Well I hadn’t posted on this in a while, and I know Alissa’s been posting like crazy.. but that could be the fact that she now has the new 3G iPhone by ATT. It’s so awesome, I don’t even know where to begin. I’m sure I could do a whole blog post just on the coolness of the new iPhone.

As always, I take far far to long to post on this blog, but I’ll try to fill you in.

2 weeks ago my mom and I went down to see my grandma Siver for a week. It was a real good time, I wish we lived closer so we could see each other more. The day we drove down, Alissa had a wedding to go to. It was one of her school friends I think, I know she was looking forward to the party afterwards. She took a pregnancy test after the wedding while her and Amy where getting ready for the party, and it came back positive.. You can only imagine how excited the sisters were, Alissa wanted to keep it a secret from her mom at leas until she told me.. Both our mothers have been giving us “hints” and “nudges” for a grand baby..

Anyway, long story short.. we’ve already made a Sheley baby blog, where you can see how she told our parents.

I had posted that our house was for sale some time ago, well 50 days later and we think we have it sold. We have until the 31st to get out, and into a new place.. We’ve found a few places we like, but will probably rent a place for a few months before we move in. That way we don’t have to feel rushed, we found a real nice house today, and might give an offer on Saturday..

I just got the new skin on the Transform Topeka website. I also just posted one of the longest post I’ve ever done.. I’m pretty impressed actually.

The Crowdgather job is still going great, I’ve been working closely with some real advertising pro’s. I’ve learned more in the last month about advertising using CPC and PPC advertising then I had in the last year.

oh, I’m looking forward to seeing my Sheley family, we have a reunion in September for a few days.. I’m not looking forward to the drive at all, but it’s well worth it once you get there.

We will be going to the ozarks one of these weekends for the Topeka adclub, I got to go last year but wasn’t a member.. This year I’m a member, so it may not be as free going for me.. I’m hoping to work on my tan and have a few beers!

Hey everyone, how have you all been?

• graduation is tonight for my CCNA networking class at KAW Area tech school.
• Our house is for sale, we’ve officially been on the market 3 days, and tomorrow we have our 3rd showing, and one of those, they came back for a 2nd viewing.
• We our working on Transforming Topeka for a better community, I’ll get into that more later.
• I’m going to be breaking this blog into subdomain, making Brandon.Sheley.org and Alissa.Sheley.org for Alissa if she ever wants to rant or blog about something that wouldn’t go on her business blog.
• We’ve driven by about 70 houses and I think this sunday we are going to check out one in a Great area, across the street from a nice park.
