I sold vBulletin Setup to Crowdgather

13 Nov

vbsetupI’ve been running vBulletin Setup for years, since June of 06 actually. I’m not going to lie and say I won’t be sad to sell, but it had to be done. I just don’t have the time to commit to the forums like I did before Leo came around.  I’ll still visit the forums a few times a week, but not having to worry about software/hardware updates and issues is going to be a huge relief for me. I announced to the members yesterday of the purchase and had an overall positive take on the acquisition. I look forward to seeing what Crowdgather does with the site. I know they have some great resources and can really push the forum to the next level. I’ll miss being able to email or market anything to 12,000 users with a flip of a switch, but I think I’ll still be talking to all the active users via Twitter or other forums.

I’m not leaving the forum scene all together; I had purchased IPBHelp a few months back when I was thinking about expanding my services to IPB. I got a job with the state shortly after I purchased that license and URL and didn’t really have time for it. I still don’t have a lot of time, but enough to tinker around with it once a week. I’ve already added a WordPressMU to the root as well as IP.Converge which will allow users to login to the forum and their blogs with the same login (email & pass). I don’t have it working 100% yet, but it shouldn’t take me much longer. I’ll always love vBulletin, but doubt I’ll ever own another vBulletin license unless I win the lotto and free up all my time, which I don’t even play so that’s not likely..lol Read the rest of this entry »

Welcome to Sheley Enterprises by Brandon Sheley

28 Mar

Hi Everyone,

This is Brandon Sheley of Sheley Enterprises, and I thought it was about time I made an umbrella site to show off everything I’ve done on the web.

I’m the owner of vBulletin Setup and have been offering vBulletin Services since the middle of 2007. I started vBulletin Setup as a place to share information on optimizing your forum for Search Engines as well as server load. You can see a list of my past vBulletin Clients that wished to be listed in the forums. I’ve had several of the larger forums that wish not to be listed, so their competition doesn’t see what they’ve had done and mimic it. I’ve had a number of clients post Testimonials as well, but I rarely ask clients to post. I figure I’m busy, so I know they are busy, if they want to post a testimonial they can. I’ve never had a customer walk away unhappy, and have gotten several referrals from past clients.

As you see, I still have a ton of work to do on this blog, I’ll chip away at it as I get time. I’m always working on a number of project, and always looking for new web ventures.

The countdown is on

27 Jul

We are one week away from closing on our house. It was set for the 30th, but we were able to get it pushed back to the 4th. Our new house closes on the 6th, so I think we’ll stay at one of our parents for 2 days or just rent a room. I’m going to miss the house on eveningside, it’s been a good house for us but we just need more room. I hope our new neighbors are as nice as the ones we have now. I see the neighbors on both sides have big dogs, I’m not sure how Roxy is going to handle the new house. It will certainly be a change, I hope she can maneuver down the stairs on the deck. I know I had posted a link to the for sale listing of the house and it was taken down. So here is an updated link thanks to the mighty google. You may need flash installed, but it should pull up if you give it enough time. It’s the yellow one with the lowered basketball hoop. Oh, and you can move that image around, just click and drag the cursor.

So other then the house, things have been good. Alissa has been getting lots of rest this weekend. We go to the Dr on tuesday to find out how far along she is. I’ve been getting up at the crack of dawn during the week to make her bacon and eggs every morning. Then I try to go back to bed, spend about 40 mins tossing, 40 mins sleeping then I’m up for the day.

Work has been great, we are are up to 72 forums and really getting some good people to work with us. It’s looking by the time it’s all said and done, I’ll be helping “recruit” new forum owners that want to be a part of the crowdgather network. So far I’ve worn many hats, from strictly working on installing/updating forums, to all the SEO work, to managing advertising/marketing to the future of this recruitment..
